About me:

My full name is Jopie Louwe Kooijmans. I'm currently 18 years old and I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I was born the 31th of August 1990. I'm currently attending the final grade of high school (though it is called differently). My great passions are drawing and painting, I'm currently starting up my career as an illustrator. I'm currently illustrating two books, one of them is my own. ;) People from outside the Netherlands can never pronounce my name, so here it is the English way: Yow-Pee. I'm currently living with my parents and my little sister, and after school I'm probably going to study Illustration at an art academy. I also have a great passion for everything that's art, but my favorite periods were: Ancient Rome and Greece, the Renaissance, Baroque, the Pre-Raphaëlites, Art Nouveau and most of the fantasy artists nowadays. I am friends with the wonderful artists Peter Pracownik, Marjolein Gulinski, Jeroen van Valkenburg, and Eerin Vink; and I chat with Brian Froud, Boris Vallejo and Chris Achilleos now and then (if I see them on fantasy events and fairs.).

About Rose Red and my "career":

Rose Red was born on October 12th 2006. I was sixteen when I made it. The first layout was donated by Marjolein Gulinski. I'm sorry to say, Marjolein, but I thought it was horrible ;). So that's why I made a new one, with a new logo (the old one looked the same, but bad) and a clearup of my paintings. I think this one (I coded it years ago, it's one of my favorite layouts because of the tranquility and the simplicity.) looks better and more simple. I've used this layout multiple times with different colors (an example can be found here), and it just always works for me.
